Admissions

We encourage interested families to book a tour of our beautiful facility on the Selkirk Waterfront Development.

We welcome waitlist applications throughout the year at Selkirk Montessori School. If you wish to put your child into our waiting pool, please complete the form (see Expression of Interest below) and return it to us with the $175 non-refundable fee.  In January each year, we ask our current families to let us know if they are returning for the next September. We also ask them to register any young siblings at that time. At the end of the month, we are able to put together preliminary class lists and determine what space is available for children in our waiting pool.  In late February or early March, the Executive Director/Head of School will contact waitlisted families (starting with our kindergarten and elementary/middle school students) to determine if they are interested in registering their child/ren for September. Once the child is registered, a package of information is emailed out to the family and payments are due to reserve the space.

Our receptionist will book an appointment for new families to meet over Zoom with the Executive Director or Head of School to go over the Selkirk Montessori Family Handbook. In late August, teachers will contact new parents to set up meetings with them before the start of school.

Expression of Interest Form

Download a copy of the Expression of Interest Form and return by mail along with the required fees. You will need Adobe Reader to access the expression of interest form. (A free version of the Adobe Reader can be found at the Adobe Reader Site.)  Please send completed forms to reception@selkirkmontessori.ca.

Selkirk Montessori Family Handbook

We review the handbook with parents at the time of our first official meeting. It provides information about processes, policies and procedures at Selkirk Montessori School. From time to time, the handbook will be updated to reflect changes or updates.

Family Statement of Commitment

All families are required to complete a Family Statement of Commitment at the time of enrollment. Partners (home, school, child) in Montessori Education must work together to provide an environment where learning and responsibility are seen as two parts of the equation for success, leading the young people to be the best they can be.
