SCHOOL CLOSED THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 2022 - due to the volume of snow, the risk of freezing rain and the slippery road conditions, Selkirk Montessori Shool is closed today.
We are celebrating our 40th Anniversary by creating a Labyrinth at the front of the school. We plan to do the project in two phases. The first phase is the preparation and installation of the labyrinth. The estimated cost for this phase is $30,000 and, thanks to the generosity of our families and friends of Selkirk Montessori School, we have already raised this amount! We are now awaiting a permit from the City of Victoria. The second phase will include wooden bench planters and plantings. The estimated cost for this phase is $20,000 and we will complete it when the funds are available. Please complete the donation form through Canada Helps, choosing the 40th Anniversary Project. When you are finished, a tax receipt will automatically be sent to you. Thank you for celebrating our anniversary and for making a difference at Selkirk Montessori School!
We are seeing some snowflakes at school today and there is an Arctic outflow warning in effect for Greater Victoria. Wind chill values ranging from minus 15 to minus 25 are expected tonight. At this time, we do not see any reason that the school would be closed tomorrow (Thursday). Check here for ongoing updates!
